The Future of AI in Education: Augmentation, Not Automation

The rapid integration of generative AI into global higher education presents a critical choice: do we allow these tools to simply automate our academic processes, or do we harness them to augment human intelligence and pedagogy?

I am pleased to share my latest published research, "From Automation to Augmentation: A Human-Centered Framework for Responsible Generative AI in Education."

In this paper, we explore the necessary shift toward a human-centered framework. True institutional quality requires that AI adoption remains responsible, ethical, and entirely focused on enhancing the learner’s experience rather than replacing the human element. The framework addresses how universities can govern algorithmic decision-making while maintaining rigorous academic standards.

I invite my colleagues, students, and peers in the global education community to read the full paper and join the conversation on shaping a responsible future for AI in our universities.
